When it comes to working with younger age ranges, flexibility is key. Determining the best classroom fit for each child often goes beyond age or grade—sometimes it’s about meeting their unique developmental needs. That’s why we’re excited to introduce a brand-new way to sort kids into your locations: Milestone Distribution.
With this new setting, you can assign a custom milestone prompt (like “Walking” or “Crawling”) to locations within a folder. This prompt will then surface at your Check-Ins stations, allowing caregivers to quickly sort kids into the best environment for their developmental stage.
When will this be available?
You will notice some new UI updates right away, but the milestone option is being introduced to accounts gradually, so we can keep your Check-Ins stations running seamlessly. If you don’t see the new option yet, don’t worry—it’ll be available to everyone within the next week or so!
How It Works:

Set milestones for your locations
Assign milestones to each location within a folder’s settings.

Prompt at Check-In
The first time a child qualifies to check into that folder, caregivers will see a quick prompt at the station to select their child’s milestone.

Automated suggestions
After the milestone is selected, we’ll automatically suggest that location for future check-ins to keep the process smooth and efficient. However, caregivers will see a clear indicator of their current milestone-based location and can update it if their child progresses to a new milestone.
- This isn’t a filter or an assignment: If the preferred milestone location reaches capacity, the system will seamlessly suggest the next best fit based on your existing filters, ensuring the process stays fast and flexible.
